Interventions Lower Diabetes Risk in Women Who Had Gestational Diabetes

While making positive lifestyle changes are beneficial for everyone, some populations are more at risk for developing Type II Diabetes Mellitus than others. One of those populations are women with a history of gestational diabetes. A recently released study spanning ten years evaluated the impact of intensive lifestyle and metformin intervention in women with and without a history of gestational diabetes mellitus determined that the persisting long term risk can be reduced.
